Desde 1959, el Gobierno Federal decretó que año con año, se celebraría el día del árbol cada segundo jueves de julio. Este 2017, el día asignado fue el 13 de julio. Día en el se aprovecha para promover el cuidado de los bosques y selvas. Además, durante el mes, las instituciones realizan distintas actividades. El Parque Nacional Nevado de Colima, como desde hace 14 años, no se quedó atrás.
En esta ocasión, con la asistencia de casi medio centenar de personas, fue celebrado el día del árbol, mediante el canto de las mañanitas, el pastel y el abrazo representativo, pero sin dejar atrás el principal objetivo de las actividades; reforestar.
“Es una actividad de convocatoria social, niños, niñas, familias están disfrutando de un día muy bonito. Durante 14 años tenemos esta celebración muy original. La develación de la placa al árbol majestuoso, patrimonio del bosque para la humanidad, las mañanitas, los abrazos, el pastel y terminamos con la plantación de los árboles campeones. Árboles únicos en México”, comentó José Villa Castillo, director del parque.
En lo que va de estos 14 años, han plantado “cerca de 200 mil árboles”, comentó Juan Manuel Guzmán Silva, presidente del Patronato del Nevado de Colima y Cuencas Adyacentes A. C., quien agregó que de manera representativa, los visitantes a los festejos, plantaron 200 árboles.
En total, en esta temporada 2017, plantarán alrededor de 20 mil árboles campeones, según lo que afirmó Villa Castillo. Para esto, participarán más de 20 personas. Los árboles son criados en tres viveros tecnificados ubicados en el mismo Parque Nacional. Gracias al proceso de cuidados desde la germinación, hasta el momento de plantar, que va desde tres hasta los cinco años, permite una adaptación a las condiciones del clima y suelo del cien por ciento, puntualizó el director del parque.
